The Team and the Opportunity
To continue the successful growth of our Infrastructure & Capital Projects team within EY’s Consulting practice, we are looking for experienced and motivated Project & Programme Managers (PM) and Assistant Project Managers with a background in delivering complex, high‑value capital programmes.
Our Infrastructure & Capital Projects (I&CP) team sits within the Transformation Delivery competency of EY’s Irish Consulting practice. Our I&CP team is committed to delivering exceptional client services across a range of sectors including energy, utilities, transport, water, gas, telecoms, housing, and healthcare.
Our aim is to become the Trusted Advisor to our clients throughout the construction and operational phases of national capital programmes by leveraging:

Your key responsibilities
Work directly with EY’s infrastructure clients across our focus sectors (energy, water, transport, gas, telecoms, housing, and healthcare) to deliver insight led solutions that meet client needs.
Advise clients on challenges related to the delivery of capital projects and programmes, providing practical and evidence-based recommendations.
Project set-up and mobilisation, defining the operating model and delivery strategy.
Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure project deliverables are managed effectively in line with agreed time, cost, and quality requirements.
Ensure project plans, project logs (e.g., Risks, assumptions, issues, dependency logs) and project budgets are managed effectively.
Support the delivery major project/programme activities throughout the entire project lifecycle.
Integrate data and information from multiple sources to generate insights, sharing technical, sector, and market knowledge relevant to client engagements.
Apply knowledge, experience and expertise to shape services to clients with limited direction, including development of high-quality work products and presentation of project outputs, as required.
Participate in, and where appropriate lead, smaller engagements, workstreams, or defined project components.
Assess the maturity of programme management and/or operational arrangements for infrastructure or capital programmes and support the implementation of improvement recommendations.
Internal Responsibilities
Support client account management activities, including project resourcing, financial management, and quality and risk management.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and EY colleagues to support business development across EY.
Communicate effectively with EY senior management and support the development, management and motivation of high-performing teams.
Develop a strong understanding of EY service offerings and proactively identify opportunities to enhance client value.
Support team development activities, including:
Coaching
Mentoring
Conducting performance reviews and contributing to performance feedback
Supporting recruitment, retention and training initiatives
Maintaining an educational programme to continually develop technical skills
Understanding, following, and communicating workplace policies and procedures
Understanding, applying, and communicating workplace policies and procedures.
To qualify for the role, you must have knowledge and experience in the following areas:
3rd level educational qualification in Engineering, Construction, or a related field.
Assistant Project Manager – Approx. 4-6 years’ experience as a Project Engineer or Project Coordinator delivering engineering capital projects.
Project / Programme Manager – Approx. 6-20 years’ experience delivering large scale engineering capital projects in line with the responsibilities outlined above.
Ideal candidates will have:
Experience in consulting or a similar client-facing role.
Multidisciplinary experience including project management, engineering feasibility and design, contract management and procurement.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with a track record in managing complex programmes.
Good understanding of project governance and change management principles.
Knowledge of industry-specific regulations, standards, and best practices in infrastructure development and construction.
Demonstrated leadership capability with a proactive, delivery-focused approach.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex data sets and develop actionable insights.
Additional professional qualifications, such as PRINCE2® or PMP, are desirable.
