Unijobs DAC are currently recruiting for an Administrator for the Pensions Office within the Human Resources Division at the University of Limerick.
The position is temporary, full time, working 35 hours per week.
The rate of pay is starting at €***** per hour, but is negotiable dependent on experience.
The position is initially anticipated to be until the end of October ****, with the possibility of extension thereafter.
Job Purpose The purpose of this role is to provide high-quality administrative support to the Pensions Section within the Human Resources Division.
The postholder will interact with both internal and external customers and will be expected to work effectively in a busy, confidential, and collaborative environment.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organisational, numeracy, and problem-solving skills.
The Pensions Administrator will share responsibility for the administration of all aspects of the University's pension schemes and associated benefits, and for delivering a high-quality, client-focused service in relation to pensions and related matters.
Key Accountabilities The Key Responsibilities of this post will include, but will not be limited to: Ensure the effective administration of the University's Pension Schemes in accordance with University Statutes, legislative requirements, Pensions Authority and Government guidelines.
Manage the administration of the Pension Schemes with a membership of approximately 2,000 staff and 600 retired members of staff.
This includes staff and retiree communications, provision of annual benefit statements, benefit and calculations, transfer options, and maintenance of accurate and up-to-date scheme documentation.
Administer the Professional Added Years Scheme, including drafting calculations, liaising with the external independent.
Pensions Consultant, and engaging with the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science (DFHERIS) and the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform (DPER) to secure approval of awards.
This also includes responding to member queries and providing clear guidance on scheme provisions.
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on pensions-related matters, including engagement with other institutions in relation to transfers of pensionable service.
Organise and coordinate pension information seminars on a scheduled basis, including room bookings, speaker arrangements, and maintenance of attendance records.
Administer and promote associated benefits schemes, including Additional Voluntary Contributions (AVCs), Additional Life Cover, and the Income Continuance Plan.
This includes issuing timely communications regarding scheme changes, responding to member queries, processing applications, and completing monthly reporting.
Manage relationships with pension scheme administrators, trustees, and other external service providers.
Maintain and monitor pensions and benefits information systems to support efficient administration and the provision of management information.
This includes pension system testing for upgrades, as well as ad hoc and annual year-end updates.
Compile and produce monthly reports and other management information as required.
Maintain the pensions section of the HR website and act as the Share Point Champion for pensions-related content.
Provide cover for the Pensions Team, as required.
Essential Requirements Demonstrable high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
Working knowledge of computerised information packages E.g.
Core Modules, Docuware, Sharepoint, BI reports.
Demonstrated ability to work on own initiative, and high levels of self-motivation.
High level of analytical and numerical skills.
Flexible and adaptable approach to work.
Experience in a wide variety of office applications.
Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in a direct customer service role, preferably in a Higher Education setting.
Leaving Certificate or equivalent.
Desirable Criteria Demonstrated commitment to delivering high-quality customer service.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including experience of working effectively as part of a team.
Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage both day-to-day operational tasks and project-based work.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Comprehensive knowledge of the Core HR system.
Knowledge of UL and HR Policies & Procedures.
Proven ability to work to strict deadlines.
Working in a HR/Pensions environment.
