Job Description Summary
The Asset Optimisation & Digitisation Lead is responsible for driving digital transformation across asset management and operational processes.
This role focuses on leveraging advanced analytics, automation, and AI technologies to enhance asset performance, and enable data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Develop advanced Power BI dashboards for real-time visualization of production KPIs and asset health.
Integrate historian systems with CMMS, MES, SCADA, and ERP platforms for end-to-end data visibility.
Implement AI/ML predictive models for failure detection, anomaly identification, and process optimisation.
Automate reporting workflows using AI-driven tools to reduce manual effort and improve accuracy.
Collaborate with IT and automation teams to ensure secure, scalable integration of AI and analytics solutions.
Expertise in Power BI dashboards and advanced data visualisations.
Utilise the new historian application to develop actionable insights.
Proficiency in AI/ML frameworks for predictive analytics and anomaly detection.
Knowledge of robotic process automation tools for automating reporting workflows and KPI tracking.
Technology Deployment & Integration
Manage and optimise the digital Root Cause Analysis platform to ensure effective problem-solving and continuous improvement across operations.
Lead the rollout and configuration of digital maintenance platforms (e.g., CMMS).
Oversee the deployment of IoT sensors and condition-monitoring devices to enable real-time visibility into equipment status, usage patterns, and environmental conditions.
Integrate digital tools with existing infrastructure (SCADA, PLCs, MES) to create a unified view of asset performance and maintenance needs.
Ensure seamless data flow between systems by working with IT and automation teams to establish secure, scalable integrations.
Data-Driven Maintenance Optimisation
Use historical and real-time data to identify trends, failure modes, and performance gaps, enabling proactive maintenance planning and resource allocation.
Develop dashboards and visualisations that provide actionable insights into asset health, maintenance effectiveness, and operational risks.
Implement predictive and condition-based maintenance strategies using data from sensors, logs, and operational feedback.
Digital Workflows & Process Improvement
Design and implement digital workflows for maintenance activities, including work order generation, technician assignment, mobile execution, and automated close-out.
Standardise digital documentation practices for inspections, calibrations, and repairs to improve traceability and reduce paper-based processes.
Automate routine reporting and KPI tracking to reduce manual effort and improve visibility into performance metrics.
Continuously review and refine digital processes to improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and enhance user experience.
Support system owners in developing system performance visualisation tools and dashboards.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Change Leadership
Work closely with engineering, operations, quality, and automation/IT teams to embed digital asset management practices into daily operations and long-term planning.
Lead change management efforts to ensure successful adoption of digital tools, including stakeholder engagement, training, and feedback loops.
Mentor and support maintenance teams in using digital platforms effectively, building confidence and capability across the organisation.
Represent the site in global digital transformation initiatives, sharing learnings and contributing to enterprise-wide improvements.
Engage with external asset management and digital transformation professional bodies.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
Evaluate emerging technologies such as augmented reality (AR) for remote support, AI-based diagnostics, and mobile maintenance apps.
Pilot new digital solutions and scale successful implementations across the site.
Benchmark performance against industry standards and internal targets to identify improvement opportunities.
Drive continuous improvement projects focused on reducing downtime, improving asset utilisation, and enhancing data quality.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical, electrical, automation, process engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum 3 years' experience in asset management, maintenance engineering, or digital transformation in a manufacturing environment.
Strong working knowledge of CMMS/EAM systems, IoT technologies, and data analytics tools.
Experience in GMP-regulated environments and familiarity with compliance requirements.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects and drive adoption of digital tools.
