Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for a full-time fixed-term position as a Postdoctoral Researcher in Psychiatric Neuroimaging at the University of Galway, Ireland.This position is funded by NEURON, the Network of European Funding for Neuroscience Research & the Health Research Board as part of an award to study the mechanisms of resilience and vulnerability to environmental challenges in mental health, entitled ‘RESIST-D: Reward-Stress Interactions as Neural Substrate for Resilience and Vulnerability in Mental Health: A Translational Large-Scale Study’ awarded to Professor Dara Cannon at Galway in an EU partnership across six sites. The postdoctoral researcher post is available from 1st of September 2026 for 1 year and 3 months.RESIST-D is a translational project to investigate the neurobehavioral responses to rewards and to acute stress as key neurobiological mechanisms underlying individual differences in the risk of developing depressive symptoms at different ages after early life stress experiences, a well-documented environmental risk factor for psychopathology.
