Supply Chain Manager – Food Manufacturing
A leading food manufacturer in Kildare is seeking an experienced
Supply Chain Manager
to take ownership of planning, procurement, inventory, and logistics across a fast‑moving production environment.
This is a key leadership role with real influence on operational performance and customer service.
Production & Materials Planning
* Oversee the full planning cycle to ensure materials, ingredients, and finished goods are always available to meet customer requirements.
* Manage capacity planning and work closely with the commercial team to align production with demand forecasts.
* Champion best‑practice use of the ERP system to support accurate scheduling and stock visibility.
Procurement & Supplier Management
* Source and evaluate new suppliers while maintaining strong relationships with existing partners.
* Negotiate pricing, contracts, and service levels to secure quality materials at competitive costs.
* Ensure suppliers meet standards for reliability, compliance, and performance.
Inventory Control
* Monitor stock levels across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods to avoid shortages or excess.
* Use data‑driven methods to set inventory targets and optimise stock turns.
* Implement efficient replenishment processes and support continuous improvement in warehouse operations.
Logistics & Distribution
* Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics, selecting carriers and optimising transport routes.
* Balance service levels with freight cost management to ensure timely, efficient delivery.
* Troubleshoot any transport or delivery issues to maintain customer satisfaction.
Forecasting & Performance Analysis
* Analyse historical trends and market insights to support accurate demand forecasting.
* Track key supply chain KPIs such as lead times, order fulfilment, stock accuracy, and total cost.
* Identify opportunities for improvement and lead initiatives that enhance efficiency and reliability.
Continuous Improvement
* Drive operational excellence across the supply chain function.
* Lead and support cross‑functional projects within the wider manufacturing site.
* Promote a culture of problem‑solving, collaboration, and process optimisation.
