The Vacancy
Role Purpose
The role will focus on ensuring smooth and cost-effective resolutions for a variety of FD&D claims, while building and maintaining strong relationships with Members and brokers. You will also be involved in the efficient handling of a variety of P&I claims, maintaining control over strategies and providing regular updates. Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with functions such as Loss Prevention and Underwriting. You will also assist in preparing reports, supporting audits, and contributing to business development activities. Your efforts will help create a high-performing, inclusive team environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Handle a high volume and variety of FD&D claims for owners and charterers, ensuring they are resolved efficiently and cost-effectively according to policies and procedures.
* Manage a variety of P&I claims, ensuring efficient resolution and delivering high service levels in line with guidelines.
* Maintain relationships with Members and brokers, ensuring high service quality.
* Collaborate with colleagues in P&I Claims, Loss Prevention, and Underwriting to handle claims, identify risks, and manage relationships.
* Prepare agendas, reports, and inform management of significant developments.
* Assist in audits and peer reviews, and help improve claims handling and operational processes.
* Work closely with senior claims managers to support business development and network with Members and clients locally and overseas.
* Support the sector in building a high-performing, inclusive team environment, collaborating with enabling functions.
* Adhere to company-wide, functional, and sectoral policies, rules, and procedures.
* Contribute to claims initiatives and Expertise Teams.
About you
Skills/Qualifications/Experience
* Experience handling FD&D claims, including complex cases depending on your background.
* Proficiency with IT and ability to adapt to new systems.
* Strong administrative skills.
* Ability to manage cases in a controlled, efficient, and cost-effective manner.
* Good planning and organizational skills to handle demanding workloads.
* Understanding of FD&D Rules.
* Understanding of P&I Rules and Claims Department Procedures.
* Willingness to undertake relevant exams or review material related to IG PANDIQ where applicable.
