An Environmental Health & Safety Specialist is required for a Galway‑based client. The role involves providing Environmental, Health & Safety services to support world‑class manufacturing standards, ensuring compliance with EHS standards, Industrial Emission Directive (IED) licence requirements and the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005.
Strong Environmental experience is essential.
Responsibilities
Manage and report all environmental metrics monthly and complete environmental report (AER) & Environmental Performance Report (EPR) annually.
Ensure the site is compliant with all TT Standard work, ISO 14001, 45001, 50001, EPA & IED requirements.
Reduce the site’s greenhouse gas emissions (energy, waste, water, volatile organic compounds losses, etc.).
Provide environmental support for the manufacturing of current and new products to world‑class standards, ensuring that products are built in the safest and most environmentally efficient manner.
Support standard work relating to our chemical processes’ particular focus on electric coating & wastewater treatment processes.
Develop, implement & support health and safety programmes to reduce our Lost Time Injury Rate (LTIR) and Total Incident Rate (TRIR) to achieve world‑class standards.
Possess ergonomics competence and use various tools and methods for assessing ergonomic risks, such as observational techniques, questionnaires, and direct measurements; identify ergonomic issues and develop practical solutions that improve user experience and system efficiency.
Manage the site’s Connect & Engage and ABC programmes, ensuring that all audits and corrective actions are completed on schedule.
Demonstrate a proven track record in EH&S management and execution, with a strong focus on achieving results and the ability to lead and deliver key projects through the A3 process.
Maintain a significant level of competency in EH&S.
Requirements
Bachelor of Science (Environmental, Health & Safety); post‑graduate qualification desirable.
2–3 years’ experience working in a world‑class manufacturing environment (preferred).
Ability to use statistical and graphical tools such as Pareto analysis, A3’s, etc.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from associates, supervisors, and managers at the site level.
Strong work ethic, self‑motivated learner; able to prioritise and handle multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, changing environment.
Proven record of accomplishment in environmental, health & safety management and execution, with a strong focus on achieving results and the ability to lead and deliver key projects.
