The AA is embarking on an exciting growth and transformation phase and is seeking to recruit an Accounts Assistant to support the Finance Team to support our growth process across the AA business. This role is an opportunity for an aspiring accountant to grow and develop in a fast paced, private equity environment whilst supporting the next phase of the AA’s transformation.
Role Introduction:
This permanent role will form part of a dynamic Finance Team and will be based from our Dublin head office - however, it will be fully eligible for the AA hybrid working policy (will require minimum of 1 day in office each week). The Accounts Assistant is responsible for providing accurate, timely and relevant information on financial reports. The successful candidate will be detail oriented, with an excellent understanding of data flows and operating in a strong control environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist with monthly management accounts preparation, understanding the business behind the accounts.
* Ensure month end cost journals are calculated and processed accurately and on a timely basis for key account lines within the P&L.
* Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are completed on a monthly basis, investigate and resolve any variances in a timely manner.
* Assisting in Intercompany reconciliations.
* Support annual audit process.
* Engage in process improvement initiatives and ad‑hoc financial analysis.
The Candidate should have the following:
Minimum qualifications, experience & skills
* Candidate should be a part qualified accountant/ accounts technician with 2+ years' experience in similar role.
* Previous experience of working in a high volume, fast paced environment and regulated control environment and be adaptable to change.
* Previous experience in SAPB1/Relay360 and insurance industry an advantage.
* Good proficiency in all Microsoft Office software, i.e. Advanced user of Excel, experience with reporting tools.
* Strong oral and written communication skills.
