The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Revenue Accounting Manager to add to our leadership team. In this role, you will report to the Sr. Director, Revenue Recognition and manage the daily activities and staff of the revenue accounting department in EMEA.
The ideal candidate will be one who is a proactive leader, takes initiative, and is a great team player. The candidate will be a talented and passionate individual who is interested in helping us take Proofpoint to the next level.
Your day-to-day
* In this role you will demonstrate proficiency with revenue accounting rules under ASC 606 by performing and reviewing deal reviews on multiple-element SaaS & software arrangements to ensure accurate revenue recognition treatment
* Manage and guide a team of Sr. Revenue Accountants
* Partner and establish strong lines of communication with cross-functional teams to advise on revenue-impacting matters in the quote-to-cash process
* Proactively seek to improve processes related to revenue recognition and assist with the creation, implementation, and compliance of revenue recognition policies and procedures in accordance with ASC 606
* Review and verify the accuracy of account reconciliations and journal entries
* Perform processes and procedures to comply with SOX 404 control framework
* Support internal and external audit, revenue-related projects, and ad hoc requests as needed
What you bring to the team
* Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field, ideally ACA, ACCA qualified or to a similar level
* Experience in accounting in industry and/or public accounting, focus on SaaS & software revenue recognition strongly preferred
* Proficient technical and operational knowledge of ASC 606 and multiple-element arrangements.
* Experience leading and managing a team
* Solid organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and execute in a dynamic environment with attention to detail
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, collaboration and influencing skills to identify problems and provide solutions
* Proficient with Microsoft Excel, with the ability to analyze and organize large amounts of data
* Experience with Microsoft Dynamics D365 ERP and RevPro is a plus
