Position Overview
In this role, you will play a critical part insupporting, sustaining, and improving manufacturing processesfor theBiomaterials(Simplex bone cement)product line within Stryker’s Limerick manufacturing campus. Operating in ahighly regulated, hybrid pharmaceutical and medical device environment, the position requires a strong emphasis onprocess reliability, structuredproblem-solving, and strict adherence to GMP, quality, and regulatory standards.
Youwill provideday-to-dayproduction and cell support whilemaintainingownership of manufacturing performance, reliability, and continuous improvement activities. The role involves leadingroot cause investigations, includinghigh-value batch investigations, and ensuring manufacturing systemsremainvalidated, robust, and capable of consistently delivering high-qualityproduct.
You Will workhands-on within the Simplex production area—supporting powder and liquid manufacturing processes—and collaborate closely with cross-functionalteams across Operations, Quality, Validation, and Maintenance.
Key Areas of Responsibility

Provide specific technical leadership from an engineering perspective.
Own and sustainmanufacturing processes within the value streamsfor Biomaterials products, ensuring product quality, process stability, and regulatory compliance.
Leadroot cause analysisand implementcorrectiveto address product and process issues.
Identifyand delivercontinuous improvement (CI) and cost reductionprojects focused onOEE, yield, and scrap reduction, applying Lean, Six Sigma, and statistical techniques.
Ownership of specific cell metrics from an engineering perspective.
Technical and operational support to manufacturing operations
Ensure quality of process and product as defined inappropriate manufacturingspecifications.
Ownership of the Manufacturing Loss and RightFirst-Timemetric within the cell.
Structured problem solving.
Continuously improve the performance of the processes within the cell.
Support the optimisation of celllayout.
Providecross-functionalsupport on the technical development and application within the manufacturing process.
Engage in the implementation of leanmanufacturingwithin the manufacturing cell.
Train and mentor operators and engineers.
Support and/or manage strategic engineering projects through PMO.
Demonstrate measurable and ongoing positive impact on specified cell KPI’s.
Validation, appraisal and support of raw material, consumables,equipmentand/or processes.
Support external manufacturing and Supplier Initiated Change Requests.
Support process development and cost reduction activities within the cell.
Communicate andparticipatein system and process troubleshooting with support team members and with external agents.
Providing development and guidance for assigned Co-op /TechnicianEngineers,developingand conducting Co-Op /Technician performance appraisals.
Provide leadership to other Manufacturing Engineers and or Technicians asrequired.

Qualifications Knowledge Skills

Level 8 Degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline.
Proven Project Management skills through the delivery of strategic cell projects.
Hasaminimum of4+years’ experience in a manufacturing environment or relevant industry experience.
Strong communicationand influencing skills with both internal and external agents.
General understanding of machine safety and CE certificationisdesirable.
Capable of providing technical leadership andinfluencing and providing technical direction to engineers, Co-opstudents,techniciansand operators asrequired.
Capable of working as part of a multi-disciplined team in an aggressive,dynamicandresults-orientedenvironment.
General understanding of GAMP software categories and CSV principlesisdesirable.
Demonstrable strong analytical & problem-solving skills, a process improvement orientation, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent presentation andwritten/verbalcommunication skills.
Demonstrable ability to work autonomously.
A team player, with a flexible approach.
Technological expert, willing to source, investigate and specify technological and automation advances.
Confident and effective decision maker, with a proven technical leadership ability to negotiate and influence others.
