Arcadis are a seeking a Facilities EHS Representative for an assignment located in Ringaskiddy, Cork. This is initially a 12-month contract with potential for long term work.
Responsibilities
Identify, assess, and mitigate workplace health and safety risks; lead incident reporting, investigation, and corrective actions; drive safety culture through training and audits
Oversee fire detection, alarm, suppression systems, emergency lighting, and evacuation arrangements; ensure systems are maintained, tested, and certified per statutory requirements
Ensure compliance with EHS legislation; manage regulatory inspections and audits; maintain permits and certifications; act as primary interface with authorities
Govern EHS and facilities operations platforms (IOSS); ensure accurate incident/risk reporting, compliance tracking, asset monitoring, and system optimisation
Identify EHS training gaps, develop remediation plans, coordinate and schedule safety training and toolbox talks for staff and contractors
Review and approve contractor safety documentation, permits, and workplans; conduct audits and meetings; track metrics and corrective actions
Conduct facility inspections, hazard assessments, and safety observations; document findings and ensure corrective actions are closed
Define EHS KPIs, provide leadership reporting, track and trend EHS performance, develop monthly communications, and support strategic decision-making
Requirements
Minimum 2+ years in facilities safety, EHS program implementation, construction safety, or related role
Working knowledge of OSHA standards, environmental permitting, fire codes, and relevant workplace safety regulations
Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to produce clear reports and deliver effective training
Proficient with office software (Word, Excel) and familiar with permit/EHS management systems
Experience managing hazardous materials/waste programs; practical knowledge of facility trades and associated safety hazards
