Overview
About the Role DB Recruitment are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Electrical Engineer to join a highly established engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development, testing, and implementation of electrical systems and components across a range of industrial and commercial projects. This role requires a strong technical background, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams.
Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and oversee the installation of electrical systems for building and industrial applications.
* Prepare electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and technical drawings using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
* Perform load calculations, cable sizing, and protective device coordination studies.
* Prepare specifications, bills of materials, and detailed technical reports.
* Ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations (e.g., IEC, BS, EN, and local electrical codes).
* Participate in site inspections, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems.
* Support project management teams in scheduling, budgeting, and client communication.
* Coordinate with other engineering disciplines (mechanical, civil, automation) to ensure integrated design solutions.
* Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues during project execution.
* Contribute to continuous improvement, innovation, and the adoption of new technologies.
Qualifications & Experience
* Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
* Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in electrical design or engineering roles (construction, utilities, data centres, or manufacturing preferred).
* Strong knowledge of LV/MV distribution systems, lighting, fire detection, and control systems.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with Revit, ETAP, Amtech, or similar software is an advantage.
* Familiarity with international standards such as IEC, BS7671, and EN standards.
* Excellent analytical, communication, and organisational skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Professional accreditation or membership (e.g., Engineers Ireland, IEEE, or equivalent) is desirable.

* Strong attention to detail and quality assurance mindset.
* Effective time management and ability to meet deadlines.
* Strong communication and documentation skills.
