What is the opportunity?This is an exciting opportunity to join the Enterprise Capability Team, which is a core part of GIA. The Enterprise Capability Team is comprised of audit professionals, and work closely with the Head of Audit to deliver audits across the Group. The Senior Audit Manager will have the opportunity to work across all Divisions and all risks, which will allow them to broaden their experience, or indeed to focus in a core area or risk. This is an excellent opportunity for a high calibre candidate with internal audit experience and a passion for wanting to make a difference.In This Role, You WillSupport in scoping and planning audit engagements to meet the objectives as outlined in the Group Audit Committee approved audit plan.Evaluate internal controls and processes through the planning, execution and reporting of audit engagements.Lead audit engagements ensuring audits are run within budget, time and resource requirements.Report on the status of audit engagements to the Heads of Audit.Manage partner engagement with auditees throughout the audit engagement, including regular updates and agreement of audit issues and final report.Support in the development of the annual assurance plan and opinion.Support and mentor new and more junior members of the team in audit methodology and use of Audit Board.Ensure audits are delivered in line with GIA methodology.What will make you stand out?Experienced in leading Financial Risk auditsInternal audit experience in Financial Services with a strong knowledge of audit methodology, processes and IIA standardsRelevant experience in business and industry knowledge of Financial ServicesExtensive subject matter experience in the relevant risk areas and the Financial Services IndustryExtensive experience in Internal Audit in an FS environment, with solid understanding and experience working in the context of a large complex organisation, developing strong organisational relationships and leading through influence are keys to success.Advanced reporting writing skills, critical thinking skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a simple manner that generates practical insights for Executive and Board audiences.Highly adept in navigating governance processes and working cross-functionally with a broad group of partners to achieve an outcome.In depth knowledge and understanding of Bank of IrelandStrong people manager skillsEssential QualificationsQualified or working towards a relevant Internal Auditor qualification (Certified Internal Auditor - CIA, or Certified Information System Auditor - CISA) or Accountancy qualification ACA/ACCAMore About The TeamGIA forms the 3rd line of defence for the Bank of Ireland Group. GIA's purpose is 'to Help Make Bank of Ireland Better', including providing independent assurance to key partners on the effectiveness of the Group's risk management and internal control frameworks. To fulfil this purpose, GIA carries out risk based assignments, covering Group businesses and functions. We provide additional insight through its attendance at key governance fora and committees across the Group. Key partners include the Board, the Group Audit Committee, key subsidiaries' audit and risk committees and senior management, as well as other key parties, including the Group's regulators and external auditors. GIA's findings are communicated to senior management and other key partners, with remediation plans monitored for progress against agreed completion dates. We have a Group-wide remit and, as a result, have a deep insight into all of the Group's activities and access to the most senior levels within the Group.This is a hybrid role, based primarily at Baggot Plaza, Dublin 4 or Donegal Square, Belfast. We typically ask colleagues to spend a minimum of 8 days per month working in-person to support collaboration and connection.
