The Digital Project Manager (BIM) plays a key role in ensuring each project’s design is delivered to the highest standard. This position focuses on achieving seamless design execution, coordination, and technical excellence across all engineering disciplines.
About You
* The candidate must be based in Ireland to be considered for this position.
* A working knowledge of Autodesk Revit, Navisworks and BIM360 are essential while a working knowledge of ArchiCAD and other BIM authoring software is beneficial.
* Assist the client in preparing comprehensive BIM Guidelines where necessary and advise on BIM best practices.
* Review, evaluate, and comment on the BIM Execution Plans provided by both the Design teams, and the Construction BIM teams on behalf of the client.
* Provide oversight of the project Design and Construction Teams to ensure that the requirements of the client’s BIM Guidelines are properly and adequately addressed.
* Ability to lead, coordinate and supervise both internal and external teams.
* Ability to lead, delegate and monitor BIM works to external contractors.
* Provide oversight of the Design BIM Team to ensure that 3D design coordination is completed.
* Ensure that all project design and construction models and related documents are posted on the owner’s document management server or FTP site as required by BIM Coordination Schedule.
* Interface between the various project stakeholders to ensure that the model content conforms to the owner’s data requirements.
* Coordinate BIM kick-off meetings and ongoing BIM coordination meetings for the project team.
* Provide an overall BIM Coordination Schedule for the Spatial Coordination meetings and milestones.
* Provide timely reporting on BIM progress to the owner’s PM. Communicate to the Design management team and project design team the key performance indicators (KPIs) and how they are measured and to be met.
* Facilitate the hand-over of the Design BIM model to the Construction BIM Team by providing regular detailed design BIM model reviews. These reviews include recommendations to optimize the clash detection process along with visual examinations of the combined Architecture, Structural, Civil, MEP, and Fire Protection models.
* Excellent organisational skills with an ability to produce quality work and achieve project deadlines within budget.
* You must be self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook, and a clear focus on high quality and business services.
* A forward planner, who identifies and resolves project challenges effectively.
* Have a working knowledge base and experience across all RIBA work stages.
* You must have excellent commercial awareness and business acumen with the ability to manage projects to the budget including man-hours and commercial targets.
* Display excellent written and verbal communication skills. Have thorough knowledge of UK building regulations and construction technology.
* Possess exceptional technical and construction detailing ability.
Your Day-to-Day Activities
* Provide leadership to the BIM management functions on the project, in accordance with established DM Group procedures and protocols.
* To complete and publish federated models and clash reports (part of the Project Execution Plan) and establish project-specific procedures and implement them, in accordance with DM Group's established procedural protocols.
* To complete and publish Power BI reports on BIM models including modelling best practices and weekly clash reports.
* Provide interface with client, as appropriate where defined in the project structure.
* Demonstrate a positive attitude to safety and ensure the "Design" team is active in this regard.
* Guide the Design team to insure that the overall project requirements are satisfied.
* Working with the discipline leads to establishing an agreed scope of services for all Design disciplines and/or Design Subcontractors/Suppliers.
* Ensure adherence to the design brief/scope of service and develop (as required) a comprehensive scope of service for the next stage of the project.
* Manage all design reviews and coordination meetings; ensure a fully coordinated design model is in place and work closely with discipline lead designers to deliver.
* Ensure that a fully coordinated design is produced that integrates with the agreed Project Execution Plan and that the design is regularly monitored for progress and updated as required.
* Manage change control (in conjunction with the internal team)
* Ensure that the Design fully accords with the defined specifications as detailed within the work package control document or Sub-contract documents as appropriate.
* In conjunction with Senior Management and discipline heads, ensure that resource management is effectively and efficiently applied to the project.
