Location: Site-based (manufacturing environment) Ballydine Role Overview The Engineering Stores Operator is responsible for the day-to-day operation of an on-site engineering storeroom within a highly regulated manufacturing environment. The role ensures that engineering, maintenance, and operational teams have timely access to materials while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, stock accuracy, and housekeeping. The company specialises in managing engineering and maintenance materials directly on customer sites, ensuring engineers have reliable, timely access to critical parts while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, stock control, and compliance within fast-paced, regulated environments. Key Responsibilities Manage daily operations within the engineering storeroom to ensure effective and efficient service to site users Receive, check, and process all deliveries using the customer ERP system in line with storeroom SOPs Distribute materials to relevant areas and issue parts against maintenance work orders Assist engineers and maintenance teams in locating and issuing required materials Maintain accurate records and logbooks, including key issues and high-value items Carry out daily cycle counting and provide feedback on stock accuracy Monitor stock levels, identify potential shortages, and flag slow-moving items Complete weekly and monthly stock checks as required Process and pack return materials to suppliers Maintain excellent housekeeping and safety standards, ensuring audit readiness at all times Ensure all activities comply with site health & safety, quality, and operational procedures Complete all required site training and maintain up-to-date certifications (including forklift licences where applicable) Escalate any day-to-day operational issues to site management when required Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Stock availability Stock accuracy and cycle counting 5S and housekeeping standards Quality, change control, and expiry date management Compliance with EHS and quality procedures Experience & Skills Required Experience working in a fast-paced warehouse, stores, or distribution environment Previous experience using manual handling equipment Forklift licence(s) desirable Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel (essential) Experience using ERP systems (desirable) Good understanding of warehousing and inventory control systems Strong attention to detail and ability to work with structured, detailed information Excellent communication and numeracy skills Strong teamwork and collaboration skills Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Good awareness of health & safety requirements Personal Attributes Conscientious and reliable Organised and methodical Comfortable working in a regulated and audit-driven environment Able to work effectively under pressure while maintaining accuracy Proactive and service-oriented mindset
