An established organisation funded through public resources is seeking a qualified and experienced Accountant to join its Finance team.
This role is central to ensuring strong financial management, effective use of resources, and compliance with financial standards and controls.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the successful candidate will work closely with operational teams, senior management, and external stakeholders to support informed decision-making and efficient service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
Monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial performance
Analyse variances and provide clear reporting and commentary
Ensure full compliance with financial procedures and accounting standards
Support reporting to senior leaders and governance committees
Track capital budgets and align with funding requirements
Contribute to cross-functional projects and strategic initiatives
Maintain strong internal controls and financial systems
Support both internal and external audit processes
Provide financial insights to support planning and decision-making
Contribute to the development of financial strategies and policies
Advise management on financial risks and opportunities
Prepare presentations for executive leadership and boards
Track and report on key financial performance indicators
Encourage high performance, teamwork, and accountability
Liaise with stakeholders across departments and external bodies
Keep up to date with financial regulations, policies, and best practices
Requirements
Professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent)
Minimum 3 years of relevant post-qualification experience
Strong financial reporting and analytical skills
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
Experience in Lean Six Sigma highly desirable
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organisational and project management abilities
