Financial AccountantOur client, a rapidly expanding top 20 accountancy practice, is continuing its growth journey and is now seeking a motivated and commercially aware Accountant to join its high-performing audit team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant who wants strong client exposure, real responsibility.You will work directly with Managers and Partners across a diverse portfolio of owner-managed businesses, SMEs, and larger corporate clients, gaining hands-on experience and leadership exposure in a collaborative and supportive environment. Initially being offered as a Fixed Term Contract, these roles have a strong view to becoming permanent.The RoleYou will take ownership of core audit and accounting areas and play a key role in delivering high-quality audit assignments while supporting and mentoring junior team members.Key ResponsibilitiesAudit & Technical DeliveryTake responsibility for key audit areas and assist in managing client audits, reporting to the Audit ManagerPlan and execute assignments to ensure completion on time and within budgetPrepare audit files to required professional standardsPrepare statutory financial statements and supporting documentationDraft journals in line with appropriate accounting principlesReview work completed by junior staff and prepare files for managerial reviewPerform detailed technical work and contribute to client discussions using commercial awarenessIdentify alternative or innovative audit approachesMaintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting and audit technical developmentsMaintain high standards of quality and reporting across engagementsClient & Commercial ExposureLiaise directly with clients throughout the audit processAct as a key point of contact between the client and audit managerBuild strong working relationships and understand clients' businesses and industriesLiaise with the Tax Department on relevant mattersAssist in developing new client relationshipsTeam Leadership & DevelopmentTake ownership of tasks and ensure delivery to deadlinesMonitor work delegated to junior staff and manage workflowProvide coaching, guidance, and constructive feedback to team membersSupport a positive and collaborative team environmentCommunicate updates regularly to managers and team membersIdentify personal development areas and continue professional growthTake an active leadership role within the teamCandidate ProfileACA / ACCA qualified (practice trained)2–4+ years' audit experience in an accountancy practiceStrong knowledge of auditing standards and financial reportingExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsCommercial awareness and ability to engage confidently with clientsOrganised, deadline-driven and capable of managing multiple assignmentsContactTo discuss this role further or other accountancy jobs please contact Jean O'Donovan on or by email or click the apply button
