Overview of the Role
The Chief Research Officer will lead the scientific and research direction of the company. This includes managing research strategy, building and leading an R&D team, and overseeing projects focused on magnetic spraying, nanobubble and nanoparticle systems. The CRO will also support IP development, academic collaborations, and lab setup, and play a key role in translating research into product innovations.
Key Responsibilities
* Shape and lead the scientific research strategy in line with business goals
* Build and manage a high-performing R&D team
* Oversee research in magnetics, nanotechnology, fluid dynamics, and their applications in spraying
* Establish and manage research labs in Ireland
* Work with other departments to turn research findings into products and IP
* Lead documentation, reporting, and external representation of scientific work
* Support patent development and protect innovation
* Maintain a fast-moving, entrepreneurial research environment
Required Experience & Skills
* PhD or Master’s in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, or related field
* Strong understanding or hands-on experience in magnetics
* Proven experience leading scientific research and managing teams
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills
* Experience working in scaling or innovation-led environments
* Willingness to travel internationally
Desirable
* Knowledge of magnetic water treatment
* Background in nanotechnology, nanobubbles or nanoparticles
* Familiarity with agricultural spraying or crop science
* Experience setting up or scaling research labs
* Track record of developing patentable innovations
