Main Purpose / Objective Of The Position
The role is responsible for providing operational and technical support for laboratory electronic systems used in analytical testing, data recording, and reporting. Core systems supported include Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), Chromatography Data Systems (e.g., Empower), Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELN/LES), and other lab-related IT platforms.
Educational Requirements
* Diploma or degree in a Laboratory Science discipline (e.g., Chemistry, Microbiology, Biochemistry) or equivalent relevant experience.
* A strong aptitude or prior experience with Laboratory IT systems is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
* Serve as a system administrator for laboratory IT systems (e.g., Empower, ELN/LES, LIMS).
* Troubleshoot system performance issues and act as the primary contact for technical support related to lab systems.
* Perform system updates in accordance with change control and action item procedures.
* Coordinate with IT teams regarding system upgrades and validation activities for electronic laboratory systems.
* Liaise with global system stakeholders, compile system-related data, and present findings in informal reports to supervisors.
* Support qualification and routine maintenance of high-end electronic laboratory instrumentation.
* Participate in deviation investigations and accurately document any system or user errors according to established protocols.
* Follow all applicable Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) procedures and contribute to incident investigations as needed.
* Assist in the training and onboarding of laboratory personnel in the use of lab IT systems.
* Exhibit high standards of integrity, especially in the context of pharmaceutical quality control.
* Maintain strong collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders across laboratory and IT functions.
* Demonstrate proficiency in scientific principles and adapt quickly to new electronic technologies with appropriate training.
* Participate in, or lead, continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Six Sigma.
