The Role: Senior Environmental Manager
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Environmental Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of large-scale linear infrastructure projects.
Main Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage environmental planning for projects, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and best practices.
* Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including government departments, local authorities, and external consultants.
* Oversee the coordination and management of technical reviews and documentation, including Environmental Impact Statements (EISs) and Natura Impact Statements (NIS).
* Liaise with third parties during planning, construction, and operational stages of projects.
* Assist in preparing responses to parliamentary questions and public inquiries related to environmental issues.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:
* A recognized third-level degree qualification in environmental science, civil engineering, or a related field.
* A minimum of 7 years' experience in environmental management, preferably in a similar role.
* Strong leadership and team management capabilities, with the ability to lead and motivate others.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to develop effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Fluency in English, both written and oral, is essential.
* A strong commitment to promoting sustainability and environmental best practice, with a focus on integrating sustainability, decarbonization, and climate adaptation principles into major infrastructure projects.
* Chartered Engineer (Engineers Ireland) or Chartered Environmentalist, or eligibility to register within one year of appointment.
