Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Digitalisation Project Lead to drive the planning, delivery, and optimisation of our clients' finance digital transformation projects. This role requires a strong technical background in cloud-based finance systems-particularly Xero - as well as extensive experience in software migration and process improvement. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical abilities, exceptional project management capability, and a passion for delivering excellent results to clients.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead end-to-end digitalisation projects, ensuring successful delivery of system migrations, integrations, and process improvements for clients.
* Act as the subject matter expert for Xero, including advanced configuration, automation, reporting, and integration with third-party applications.
* Assess, map, and optimise existing business processes with a focus on digital enablement and efficiency gains for clients.
* Coordinate stakeholder engagement across departments, ensuring alignment, adoption, and effective communication throughout project lifecycles.
* Conduct feasibility assessments and technical evaluations for new digital tools and cloud-based solutions.
* Manage project timelines, risks, and deliverables, ensuring compliance with project and organisational objectives.
* Provide training, support, and documentation to ensure smooth onboarding of new systems and processes.
* Collaborate with clients, vendors, external partners, and internal teams to maintain project integrity and successful implementation outcomes.
Required Skills & Experience
* In-depth technical knowledge of Xero, including APIs, integrations, data structures, and advanced features.
* Xero Certified
* Proven track record of leading finance software migration projects
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and recommend improvements.
* Demonstrated experience in project management, including planning, execution and risk mitigation.
* Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management capabilities.
* Ability to work autonomously while driving cross-functional collaboration.
* Strong client relationship management experience.
Desired / Advantageous Skills
* Strong understanding of cloud-based accounting platforms, such as Sage, QuickBooks, or similar alternatives.
* Certification or practical experience in Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies.
* Familiarity with automation tools, workflow platforms, and digital reporting solutions.
Qualifications
* A relevant third-level qualification in Business, IT, Project Management, Accounting, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
* Professional project management certification (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP, Agile PM) is an advantage but not essential.
* Accounting Qualification advantageous
