Overview In this position you will have key responsibility for teams and capabilities across Business Intelligence, Strategic Insights, Predictive Modelling, Analytics Governance and Analytics Enablement.
Your role here is to come in andtake control of all enterprise dashboards and level-up how the whole function operates.
This would see your immediate focus centred on Business Intelligence first and in the long run on the Analytics side also.
That means getting this department to the point where it is THE first port of call for executives when they want to assess where the business is at or a specific element of it.
And youll have a clean slate to bring in your own vision on this.
So, what would that mean in practice? From an overall view, youll be looking at where the technology stack is at.
From there youll assess the technology choices and what avenues should be pursued with those.
Essentially, youll be looking to rationalise the existing set-up as appropriate.
Another likely first step is todo a root & branch review of the dashboards.
Youll look at these and ask: are these generating insight? Is the data accurate? Are we actually producing outputs that are of value? Youll also be looking at data inventories stuff like data assets, KPIs, metrics, again the dashboards & BI tools and assessing the costs to really get a full picture of where everything stands.
Thats all on the technical side.
Theres also a big people element in your leadership here.
With that in mind, youll be ensuring UX and data visualisation standards are up to the right level in the team in terms of what the function is creating and how everything is presented.
As a more long-term strategic goal, youll also be aiming tomove towards more of a self-service model for business intelligence & dashboards across the bank.
Therell still be core BI for senior leadership but on top of that the vision is for people to go in and build their own to a certain extent.
Obviously, this means setting up a standard blueprint for dashboards, ensuring theres a trusted dataset being drawn from, etc.
Key Responsibilities - Lead the delivery of the enterprise-wide advanced analytics and BI strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment with the bank's business priorities.
- Lead the creation and maintenance of Enterprise BI Dashboards, performance scorecards, metric standardisation, version control and standardisation.
- Develop and own the self-service analytics strategy including tooling, governance and data asset curation.
- Empower your team to direct the design, development, and maintenance of BI solutions, including visualisations, data models, reports, and dashboards.
- Ensure complex insights are presented in accessible ways for senior leadership and executive audiences.
Your Background Experience in Business Intelligence, Data & Analytics, or a relevant area, ideally with exposure to a management role.
Leadership experience with data visualisation, reporting, business intelligence, UI/UX design.
Extensive knowledge of BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Quicksight, SAS Viya).
Knowledge of advanced analytical methods, with a focus on prescriptive, predictive, statistical modelling and AI literacy.
