About the Role:
* We have an exciting opportunity for a Chemical Laboratory Specialist to join our team in Charleville, Co. Cork.
* This is a full-time seasonal role with a 3-cycle shift pattern consisting of 08:00 – 16:00, 16:00 – 00:00 and 00:00- 08:00 rotating weekly.
* The hours may change in the summer to 12-hour shifts on 4 days on 4 days off basis (2 days and 2 nights).

* We are a vertically integrated farm-to-fork business with a very substantial consumer foods presence and a leading nutritional and dairy ingredients division.

Your Responsibilities:
1. You will be responsible for testing and analysing product samples to ensure that the quality standards are met.
2. You will work in our Powder Lab, within Milk intake.
3. You will analyse raw materials in process and finished product samples (whey, skim, milk powder etc) across the in-process lab.
4. You will carry out all laboratory activities in line with GLP and in-house requirements.
5. You will comply with GLP/ GMP and safety requirements.
6. You will assist with ensuring the laboratory is always adequately stocked with the consumables necessary to carry out the required analyses.
7. You will record data relevant to each test, and results and keep records up to date, clear and legible.
8. You will perform basic instrument calibration, maintenance (LECO) and completion of associated records.
9. You will participate in proficiency testing within scope of laboratory accreditations.
10. You will maintain the laboratory in a clean and well-organised status.
11. You will participate in audits (internal and external) and inspections.
Requirements:
* CHEMISTRY QUALIFICATIONS ARE DESIRABLE BUT NOT ESSENTIAL.
* You must have a proven ability to work on own initiative.
* You must have a proven ability to work within a quality control function, with attention to detail and compliance.
* You must have good communication skills.
* You must be able to deal with auditors, external parties as required.
* You must have computer literacy – working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, SAP.
