Senior Automation Engineer – Limerick, Ireland
As part of J&J Vision Care, this role involves the development, installation, validation and support of automation control systems within a highly automated, validated manufacturing plant.

Responsibilities
Provide development, installation, validation and support of automation control systems.
Design, install and validate automated solutions for new or retrofit equipment.
Commission and validate PLC and control software for a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
Fault‑find complex automation equipment.
Provide technical support to operations and other functions for automation related issues.
Develop and maintain comprehensive change‑management and quality‑control documentation to medical device standards.
Participate in project teams, leading or collaborating to deliver hardware and architecture selection decisions.
Prioritise multiple tasks while working to tight schedules.
Support implementation of strategic engineering goals, objectives and plant initiatives.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
2‑4 years of experience with PLC and Safety PLC systems, Electrical systems, SCADA and complex device integration.
Experience in developing functional and detailed design specifications from user requirements.
Experience creating and validating PLC and SCADA solutions.
Ability to work in a cross‑functional multi‑discipline team supporting operations, facilities, quality, safety and process engineering.
