About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join a Med Tech manufacturer as a CAM/CAD Programmer. Your expertise will shape life-changing medical technologies.
* Design, plan, improve and implement manufacturing processes with tight tolerances across a wide range of metals and polymers.
* Create offline programs using CADCAM software for various CNC Milling/Turning Machines.
About You:
We are seeking a highly skilled CAD/CAM Programmer with proven experience in high-precision manufacturing environments (medical device or aerospace preferred).
* Proficiency in CAD/CAM software such as Solid CAM, Hyper Mill, Esprit (or equivalent).
* Strong understanding of CNC precision machining in either milling/turning.
* Demonstrated ability to work with tight tolerances (0.02mm or tighter) and complex geometries.
* Hands-on knowledge of working with metals and engineering polymers.
* Comfortable with GD&T, 3D modelling, and engineering drawings.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Your Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, testing, and optimizing CNC programs for milling and turning machines to produce precision medical device components.
1. Interpret technical drawings, 3D models, and specifications to generate accurate and efficient tool paths.
2. Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and strategies for machining a variety of metals (e.g., stainless steel, titanium, aluminium) and polymers (e.g., PEEK, acetal, polycarbonate).
3. Collaborate with design engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure manufacturability, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory standards.
4. Troubleshoot and resolve machining and programming issues to maintain production flow.
5. Continuously review and improve machining strategies to reduce cycle times, improve surface finishes, and optimize tool life.
6. Maintain accurate documentation of programs, setups, and process improvements.
7. Ensure compliance with ISO 13485 and other medical device quality standards.
