The purpose of this role is to act as a partner to the business, providing HR guidance and advice to ensure the provision of a quality HR service that aligns with the overall business and people strategy.
What You Will Do
1. Act as trusted Junior HR Business Partner with key responsibilities in employee relations, performance management, retention, high level comps and benefits, project management of agreed key HR projects. The Junior HR Business Partner is committed to living the Organisation values and has a clear understanding of Focus Ireland’s mission and strategic vision.
2. Establish key relationships within the organisation to become a trusted advocate for HR practices for the business.
3. Collaborate with People Managers to understand their needs and develop solutions that align with the organisations's strategy.
4. Partner with new and existing People Managers to develop and execute HR strategies focused on the full HR portfolio: Employee relations, performance management, talent management, organisational effectiveness, retention, workforce planning, employee engagement, Diversity & Inclusion and more.
5. Provide support, coaching and deliver expert advice on HR practices to People Managers and employees to ensure consistent, fair and equal treatment of all employees, customers and stakeholders.
6. Act as HR Lead for the assigned strategy working stream.
Employee Relations and Performance Life cycle
1. Act as the first point of contact for People Managers in assisting and advising on ER, conflict resolution, performance and employee wellbeing issues, with a focus on early intervention and alternative dispute resolution.
2. Provide support and coaching to new and existing People Managers with a strong emphasis on the probation process and the 6 month lifecycle of the new employee.
3. Provide up to date advice and support around the legal and regulatory environment, influencing and recommending solutions to People Managers.
4. Participate and support People Managers and employees in informal and formal hearings, as appropriate, e.g., investigations, disciplinary, grievances.
5. Act as point of contact for employees requiring an employment permit, supporting on employment permit applications where required.
6. Ensure HR Policies & Procedures are up to date and in line with legislation.
Employee Retention
1. Ensure the roll out of agreed Retention strategies to include Employee Check-Ins, Stay Interviews, and Exit Interviews.
2. Use analytics, gather data to proactively identify and address factors that impact employee retention across the Organisation and support People Managers with actions plans.
3. Partner with People Managers ensuring the retention and development of high performing employees.
4. Measure the effectiveness of retention strategies and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
Comps And Benefits
1. Act as the HR Lead for Long-term sick absence for the Organisation providing support and guidance to People Managers and employees on best practise.
2. Arrange MedMark appointments where appropriate to support employees out on long-term sick back to work.
3. Manage the retirement process for the organisation in consultation with the Senior HR Manager.
4. Support the Senior HR Manager and/or HR Director in benchmarking for the business as required.
5. Support the Senior HR Manager on employee secondments ensuring best practise and structures are in place.
6. Use HR metrics and data to improve business outcomes.
HR Projects
1. Act as HR Lead in the project management of agreed key HR Projects ensuring successful completion within agreed timelines – e.g. ROPA.
2. Proactively identify HR projects to ensure continuous improvements for HR Processes and HR Services delivery.
General
1. Work within the framework of the overall objectives of Focus Ireland.
2. Be proactive and conscientious in complying with GDPR requirements.
3. Input information and metrics into the HR & Board Reports.
4. Participate in Organisational working groups as required.
5. Undertake such other duties as might be reasonably assigned from time to time in consultation with the Senior HR Manager and/or HR Director.
6. Be vigilant to any Health, Safety and Welfare risks in the workplace and bring any concerns to the attention of your line manager or Health & Safety Representative.
7. Be reasonably flexible in relation to the hours of work in order to meet the requirements of the role. Work during unsocial hours may be required.
8. Have a flexible approach to the work in response to organisational change, development and review of best practice.
What You Will Need
1. Qualified HR Practitioner with a third level degree in a HR related discipline and member of CIPD.
2. 4 years’ experience in a HR Generalist role with an in-depth experience, understanding and knowledge of employee relations, performance management and HR best practices.
3. Operates with high level of integrity and confidentiality.
4. Strong Employment law knowledge essential.
5. Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills with a proven ability to handle sensitive matters with tact and diplomacy.
6. Ability to influence across all levels and bring people on board.
7. Innovative approach to people solutions, with a strategic mindset.
8. Proven project management ability, can create and implement plans and adapt to changing priorities and timelines quickly.
9. Strong analytical and report writing skills with proven experience of using people metrics to add value to all people matters.
10. Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
11. Ability to work well under pressure with excellent planning and organisational abilities.
