Mechanical FitterWeir MineralsWingfield SAWorkshop & Field Purpose of Role: We are seeking a qualified Mechanical Fitter with rebuild/overhaul experience across multiple styles of pumps and valves.You will be responsible for the strip down of pumps from drawings and manuals, be able to carry out measuring and reassembly tasks, including balancing, calculating tolerances, pressure testing and completing final inspection reports.The work will involve both workshop based and field service work in Wingfield and Whyalla, working also on Weir customers sites for shutdowns and maintenance as scheduled.Work hours in workshop Mon- Fri 6.54am – 3.00pm (7.6hr days)Shutdown & Site work is approx. 3-5 days per monthAllowances are paid for travel and site workKey Responsibilities:Completing repairs on critical equipment, including strip and assembly, assessment and reporting and machine maintenance.Carry out all tasks in accordance with the Service Centre Quality Manual.Document wear, corrosion and faults with photos to complete condition assessments.Make recommendations for improvements to current products, services and procedures.Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:Cert III – Mechanical Engineering/Fitting & Turning Experience working as a Mechanical Fitter in a workshop or onsiteExperience working on pumps and valves,Well-developed written and verbal communication skillsHigh Risk Forklift ticket - preferredOverhead crane & doggers ticket - highly desirableManual drivers license requiredApplications will close 21 November 2025Why choose Weir: Be part of a global organization dedicated to building a better future: At Weir, the growing world depends on us.
