OEM Automation Engineer 1631
SimoTech has an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced PCS Automation Engineer to join our team supporting our pharmaceutical client in Co. Dublin on a major site expansion project. This role offers the chance to work on cutting‑edge automation technologies in a world‑class biopharmaceutical manufacturing environment. The PCS Automation Engineer will provide technical leadership and hands‑on expertise in the design, validation, and lifecycle support of automation systems for manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will have deep experience in formulation, with a strong focus on Rockwell Automation platforms and integration to third‑party systems within a GMP‑regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead automation activities for formulation, cleaning and integration from design through commissioning and start‑up.
Design and troubleshoot Rockwell Automation PLC/SCADA/Batch systems.
Support integration of automation systems with Pas‑X MES.
Develop and review user requirement specifications, functional design specifications, and other engineering documentation.
Manage day‑to‑day interactions with the system integrator, including technical oversight.
Execute IOQ protocols and support validation activities in compliance with GAMP and 21 CFR Part 11.
Present project plans and technical updates to senior stakeholders.
Ensure adherence to corporate automation standards and blueprint requirements while aligning with local business needs.
Maintain compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations throughout project execution.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Chemical Engineering, Biotech Engineering, or related discipline.
5+ years experience in automation engineering within biopharmaceutical or GMP‑regulated environments.
Excellent leadership, technical writing, and communication skills.
Ability to work on‑site at least 3 days per week.
Independent, self‑motivated, and organised, with strong collaboration skills in a project‑driven environment.
