Role description
The Project Controls Department Manager is a pivotal member of the Operations leadership team, responsible for managing all aspects of the project controls function while reporting to the Business/Operations Director.
This Cork office-based role ensures the effective delivery of project controls services across all projects within the operation, with a focus on continuous improvement, digitalisation, and stakeholder collaboration.
Key areas of project controls responsibility:
Project reporting & control of indirect cost
Project Change Management
Project Planning and scheduling
Project cost estimating
Equipment and Contract Procurement
Contract Administration
You will collaborate closely with clients, the Business/Operations Director, Project Managers, Engineering Discipline Managers, Construction Management and C&Q Teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
Duties & Responsibilities.
Lead the successful delivery of the project controls function across all projects.
Prepare project controls proposals, including professional services hour estimates.
Support business development activities and participate in client presentations.
Manage and resource the project controls team in line with agreed staffing plans.
Drive the implementation of best-in-class digital technologies to optimise workflow processes.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and professional development within the team.
Ensure compliance with company standards, client requirements, and industry best practices.
Qualifications & Experience:
A passion for improving quality of life and a commitment to teamwork.
Degree qualified in a relevant discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
Minimum of ***** years' experience within an engineering design consultancy environment.
Proven experience on industrial projects valued at €100m+.
Demonstrated industry experience in the Pharma or Life Sciences sectors.
Strong ability to convey complex information clearly to diverse stakeholders.
Advanced analytical skills to assess project performance, identify trends, and drive corrective actions.
Demonstrated leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
