Job Title: Cardiac Physiologist (Basic Grade)Reports to: Cardiac Services ManagerLocation: Cardiology Dept. Dublin.Job PurposeTo provide a diagnostic cardiology service to the hospital. The fundamental philosophy guiding this position is to promote and preserve the Bon Secours Mission, Values and Ethos and to maintain confidentiality and a professional approach at all times.Key Duties and Responsibilities:The Cardiac Physiologist will undertake the duties appropriate to that position. The Cardiology Department carries out a wide range of cardiac investigations that include:Essential:ECGs – Recording/Interpretation, and highlighting abnormal findings.24 hour Holter monitoring – Patient hook up and technical downloading/ analysis interpretation.24 hour Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring – Patient hook up and analysis of same.Event Recording – Patient hook up and analysis.Exercise Stress test– Patient hook up and interpretation.Desirable:Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory to include technical support for Angiograms & percutaneous Coronary Intervention and competence during emergency procedures.Tilt-Table testing.Loop recorder, pacemaker & ICD interrogation.Trans-thoracic echocardiography.The Cardiac Physiologist will also be expected to carry out the following:Performing the procedure or examination, report and highlight abnormal findingsCalibration and routine maintenance of all equipment, which includes sterilisation where necessaryHistory taking and interpretation of requisition formsParticipation in patient care, i.e. preparation and reassurance of patientAccurately maintaining patient database and records.To comply with Health and Safety Regulations and ensure safe working practices.Commitment to in-service training of students and physiologists.To initiate and participate in dealing with medical emergencies including but not limited to Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.To perform such other duties appropriate to the office that may reasonably be requested.Keep up-to-date with new and currents standards of protocol and teaching in their field of diagnostic cardiology.Essential QualificationsPossess the MPPM Certificate and/or MSCST qualification from the Society of Cardiological Technicians or equivalent.Be an associate of the Society of Cardiological TechniciansEssential ExperienceA minimum of 1 years experience working in a similar environment.Essential SkillsHave excellent supervisory, interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative when required.Be able to demonstrate adaptability to the rapid changes taking place in the Hospital.CLOSING DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATIONS 10TH OCTOBER 2025Bon Secours Health System is an equal opportunities employer.
