Key Responsibilities

As a Housing Officer, you will manage tenancies and support residents to maintain successful living arrangements. Key responsibilities include:

* Tenancy Management: overseeing the start, duration, and end of tenancies, including sign-ups, renewals, and terminations.
* Rent Collection & Arrears Management: monitoring rent accounts, engaging with tenants to resolve arrears, and working with finance teams.
* Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB): investigating complaints, liaising with enforcement agencies, and implementing interventions.
* Property Inspections: conducting regular estate and property inspections to ensure standards are maintained.
* Resident Engagement: building strong relationships with tenants, responding to queries, and promoting community initiatives.
* Partnership Working: collaborating with social services, support agencies, and internal departments to provide holistic support.
* Safeguarding & Welfare: identifying vulnerable tenants and ensuring appropriate referrals and support mechanisms.


Requirements for Success

* Proven experience in a housing management or tenancy support role is essential.
* A strong understanding of housing legislation, tenancy law, and safeguarding practices is required.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive issues professionally, are necessary.
* The ability to manage a busy caseload with strong organisational skills is crucial.
* Proficiency in using housing management systems and Microsoft Office is desirable.
* A full driving licence and access to a vehicle (if fieldwork is required) may be beneficial.
* CIH Level 3 or above is not essential but can be advantageous.
