Job Description
We are hiring Clinical Nurse Manager 3 - Emergency Department intoa Hospital in Dublin, Ireland.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and oversee the delivery of high-quality nursing care to all patients within the Emergency Department.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and key stakeholders to ensure safe, efficient, and patient-centred emergency care services.
Support the Assistant Director of Nursing and ED Consultant Group in developing and implementing nursing strategies and service improvements.
Provide strong clinical leadership by promoting best nursing practices, staff development, education, and continuous professional improvement.
Monitor and maintain quality assurance, clinical effectiveness, and compliance with hospital policies and NMBI professional standards.
Coordinate daily departmental operations, including staffing, resource allocation, patient flow, and interdepartmental communication.
Manage patient complaints, service issues, and operational challenges in line with hospital procedures and quality standards.
Oversee recruitment, induction, appraisal, performance management, rostering, and professional development of nursing and allied health staff.
Contribute to service planning, expansion, and performance monitoring through the use of audits, KPIs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Build and maintain effective relationships with internal departments, external healthcare providers, and organisational leadership to support efficient service delivery.
Requirements
Registered General Nurse with active registration or eligibility for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
Relevant post-registration qualification in Emergency Nursing and a recognised management qualification.
Minimum of 7 years’ recent experience in an acute Emergency Department setting, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
Proven experience in implementing change management initiatives and advancing clinical practice within emergency care services.
Strong ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
Demonstrated knowledge of workload planning, service management, staff supervision, and operational leadership.
Experience in project management, audit processes, clinical effectiveness, and quality improvement initiatives.
Excellent report writing, presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
