Facilities Maintenance Technician
Location: Ireland - Sligo.
Working Monday – Friday.
Permanent.
Reporting to the Project & Facilities Manager.
Responsible for maintaining buildings, utilities and site infrastructure to ensure a safe, efficient and compliant workplace.
Focus on preventive maintenance, repairs and supporting day-to-day facility operations.
Key Responsibilities
General Maintenance: Repair walls, ceilings, floors, cracks, plaster, tiles; replace ceiling tiles; repair doors, locks, hinges, handles; fix windows and seals; minor roofing repairs (leaks, gutters); painting and decorating; basic carpentry repair.
Health, Safety & Compliance: Follow safety procedures, EHS policies and GMP where applicable.
Maintain accurate maintenance records using the CMMS system.
Conduct risk assessments and permit-to-work.
Support environmental compliance: waste management, water monitoring and energy control.
Assist internal and external audits and corrective actions.
Contractors & Suppliers: Escort and monitor external contractors, review safety and quality of workmanship, confirm completion before sign-off.
Site & Building Support: Maintain and test fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, safety showers and other critical safety equipment.
Support BMS and access control systems.
Perform minor building works such as repairs, painting, fixtures, fittings and general upkeep.
Assist office reconfigurations, workstation moves and ergonomic adjustments.
Project & Improvement Support: Support small improvement projects to enhance safety, efficiency or reliability.
Identify opportunities for preventive maintenance improvements and cost savings.
Other Duties: Participate in the on-call rota and respond to facility emergencies outside normal hours when required.
Support continuous improvement initiatives.
Carry out other reasonable duties as requested by management.

Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding across electrical and mechanical systems.
Practical hands-on approach to maintenance work.
Work independently and prioritise workload.
Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
Strong awareness of safety procedures and compliance requirements.
Reliable, organised and detail-oriented.
Education & Experience
Minimum requirement: Leaving Certificate with relevant hands-on experience in trades such as carpentry, plumbing or electrical work.
