The Pre-Construction Design Will will be leading and taking ownership of Design & Build projects during the pre-construction stage, ensuring all design, planning, procurement, and commercial activities are effectively coordinated to support successful project delivery. What's on offer Competitive Package Career progression opportunities Exposure to large-scale, technically challenging projects Collaborative and innovative working environment Key Responsibilities Leading Design & Build projects throughout the pre-construction phase Acting as the primary point of contact during pre-construction activities Reviewing project scope, specifications, and technical documentation Supporting and coordinating the Design Team throughout project development Managing project design budgets and pre-construction programmes Monitoring project progress and reporting against agreed milestones Assisting in the preparation and coordination of subcontractor technical packages Ensuring QA/QC procedures are implemented across all design deliverables Organising and leading design coordination meetings and review workshops Managing RFIs and ensuring timely close-out to avoid programme delays Tracking procurement schedules and identifying long-lead items Coordinating with procurement and commercial teams to ensure programme alignment Overseeing project scheduling and ensuring construction readiness Identifying and implementing value-engineering opportunities Escalating programme or cost risks where required Assisting with tender submissions and commercial coordination Supporting process improvement initiatives and lean construction practices Ensuring a smooth transition from pre-construction into the construction phase Maintaining strong communication with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders Key skills required Third-level qualification in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related discipline Experience in a similar pre-construction, design management, or project coordination role within construction Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills Excellent problem-solving and decision-making ability Experience managing project programmes, budgets, and technical coordination Knowledge of building regulations, fire compliance, and construction standards Experience working with BIM software including Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD.
