There has never been a more exciting time to join the team and we are delighted to be recruiting for an experienced full time Painter.
Primary responsibilities of this position will include, but are not limited to;
* To work as part of the Facilities Team carrying out internal and external painting and decorating requirements.
* To carry out slabbing repairs, plastering and filling to walls to make good and ready for decoration.
* Minor repairs to surfaces and structures prior to decorating/painting.
* Undertake minor repair works and general maintenance activities associated with prepping or restoring a room after redecoration.
* To use all relevant tools and equipment within safety guidelines as necessary for the completion of works.
* Erecting of access equipment as required, with appropriate training and competency.
* Erection of all necessary access plant and temporary screening as and when required to protect the environment and people, all in accordance with current Health & Safety guidelines.
* Carry out a planned programme of painting and redecoration in accordance with the Hotel Resort work plan.
* Monitor decorating material and stock and assist with the procuring of new stock as required.
* Provide operational support to all Hotel functions in emergency situations
Requirements for this role;
* Trades qualified and experienced painter decorator.
* Proven experience as a Painter Decorator with attention to fine detail.
* Trained in use of all types of wall papering repairs & replacement and associated high-end finishes.
* Trained in use of all types of paints, coats, lacquers and associated high-end finishes.
* Trained in the skill of French polishing would be an advantage.
* Knowledge of wallpapering and painting on lime render finishes in architectural period buildings.
* Dry lining damaged walls.
* Plasterwork and repairs to architectural decorative and period coving.
* Replacing damaged ceiling tiles.
* Fit new plasterboard and plaster/fillers to close in patches after maintenance access.
* Paint spraying of all types of finishes.
* Skilled in using necessary tools and equipment to prepare the area ready for decoration including the moving of heavy equipment i.e. fridges, furniture, fixtures & fittings etc.
* Flexibility to cover other areas within the Facilities Department if required.
* A full driving licence is required.
Working as part of the maintenance team, the person will be willing to work, days and evening shifts.
