Based in Dublin, the role offers a hybrid working model with an average of two days per week in the office. It presents an exciting opportunity to take ownership of cross-border VAT compliance and contribute to process improvements across the European finance function.Job RequirementsMust Have:At least 2-3 years experience in VAT accounting and complianceDetailed knowledge of VAT including VAT invoice requirements, reverse-charge mechanism and place-of-supply rules for goods and servicesFluency in English and German (both verbal and written)Highly proficient in MS ExcelStrong analytical skillsTeam player with great communication skillsNice to Have:Attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks under strict deadlinesSAP FI knowledgeJob ResponsibilitiesHandle complex cross national VAT calculations, documentation and preparation of VAT applications across Europe and support the month end processesEnsure accurate, compliant and timely submission of VAT declarationsUpfront of changing VAT regulations and requirements within EUCommunication with external tax consultantsMaintain accounting procedures related to VATReconciliation of VAT accountsProvision of Indirect Tax advice to Operations colleagues including the treatment of proposed supply chain and product changes. Liaison with outsourced tax providers as required to obtain further local specialist insights on indirect tax treatment.Cross check of final returns prepared by outsourced providers and set up of payment instructions as required. Manage outsourced providers to ensure that all returns are filed on a timely basis.Acting as a point of contact for indirect tax related activities and providing periodic training within the company's departments on EU VAT rules/latest developments.Assist in Tax Audits and compliance enquiries and reviewsDetermining indirect tax compliance implications associated with various business initiatives/proposals. Reviewing current tax legislation relating to our business requirements Ensure the Policy and Procedures are up to date with regard to Indirect Taxes.Identify, create and facilitate process improvement techniques for various indirect tax reporting.
