Fresh Food Manager (LDFFMCLARE) Clare, Republic of Ireland
Salary: EUR45000 - EUR50000 per annum
Excel Recruitment is currently recruiting a Fresh Food Manager for our client’s busy supermarket in Co. Clare. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced fresh food professional to oversee multiple fresh food departments and drive standards, sales, and customer experience within a high‑performing retail environment.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the daily operations of all fresh food departments, ensuring high standards of quality, freshness, and presentation
Lead, train, and support fresh food teams across deli, bakery, produce, and other fresh departments
Drive sales performance and profitability through effective stock control, waste management, and margin optimisation
Monitor department performance and identify opportunities to improve customer engagement and increase revenue
Ensure full compliance with HACCP, food safety, and health & safety regulations across all fresh food areas
Work closely with store management to implement promotions, seasonal offerings, and fresh food initiatives
Maintain excellent merchandising and cleanliness standards throughout the fresh food departments
Support recruitment, training, and development of team members to build a strong fresh food operation
Ensure exceptional customer service standards are consistently delivered
Requirements:
Previous experience in a Fresh Food Manager, Deli Manager, or senior fresh food supervisory role within a supermarket or retail environment
Strong knowledge of fresh food operations, food safety, HACCP, and stock management
Proven ability to manage sales, margins, and waste control effectively
Strong leadership skills with experience motivating and developing teams
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Customer-focused mindset with a passion for fresh food retail
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple departments
Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including weekends when required
