Job Title: Qualified Maintenance Fitter Location: Navan, Meath Industry: Manufacturing / Food Processing Job Type: Full-time / Permanent Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor Job Overview: We are seeking a Qualified Maintenance Fitter to join our maintenance team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the mechanical maintenance, repair, and installation of plant equipment and machinery to ensure efficient and safe operations in line with company and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities: Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on mechanical equipment and production lines.
Diagnose faults and carry out mechanical repairs in a timely manner to reduce downtime.
Install, modify, and upgrade equipment as needed to meet production demands.
Maintain accurate maintenance records using CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems).
Liaise with production and engineering teams to ensure minimal disruption during maintenance work.
Adhere to health, safety, and environmental standards in line with Irish legislation and company policy.
Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and continuous improvement initiatives.
Support the maintenance of utilities systems (e.g., compressors, pumps, conveyors, etc.) where applicable.
Key Requirements: Fully qualified Maintenance Fitter (e.g., National Craft Certificate / QQI Level 6 / FETAC Level 6 in Mechanical Fitting or equivalent).
Minimum 2–3 years post-qualification experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Strong mechanical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
Experience working with hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, motors, gearboxes, etc.
Ability to read technical drawings and use precision measurement tools.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Flexibility to work shifts and overtime as required.
