Sigmar is seeking a Lead Process Engineer to drive improvements in production efficiency, capital projects, and maintenance operations at our clients high-volume meat packing facility.
The role also involves preparing the site for regulatory changes, including the 2030 F-gas refrigeration compliance.
Key Responsibilities Improve efficiency across packaging lines by: Reducing downtime Increasing yield through better use of primal cuts Implement automation technologies (e.g. vision inspection, auto-loading) Monitor and report on KPIs including: -OEE -Waste reduction (target <0.7%) -Energy consumption Lead capital projects, including: -Refrigeration system replacement for 2030 F-gas compliance -Vendor selection, budgeting, and phased rollout -Managing vendor relationships Support a 5-year asset replacement strategy (e.g. mincers, sealers, thermoformers) Minimise production disruption (20M+ packs/year) during equipment upgrades Manage Maintenance Manager and team of 5 FTEs to: Deliver preventative maintenance on key assets Resolve breakdowns within 1 hour Build a skills matrix and training plan for the team Experience: 7+ years in food manufacturing engineering 3+ years in meat or poultry processing Proven track record leading €1M+ CAPEX projects Knowledge of refrigeration systems (F-gas, ammonia, CO2) Technical Skills: Lean Six Sigma (Black Belt preferred) AutoCAD or SolidWorks proficiency Personal Qualities Strategic thinker with long-term planning ability Strong communicator who can influence across departments Practical and hands-on, comfortable on the factory floor Whats Next Apply now by clicking the Apply Now" button or call us at .
