The Opportunity

Bid Manager
for a well-established, fast-growing Irish civil engineering contractor delivering major public realm and water / wastewater infrastructure projects nationwide.
This is
not
a back-office tender role.
This is a
leadership hire

The Role
As Bid Manager, you will take full ownership of the
end-to-end tendering process
, from opportunity review through submission, award, and handover to operations.
You'll assemble and lead bid teams, drive commercial strategy, manage risk, and ensure every submission is
compliant, competitive, and built to win
.
You will be trusted, listened to, and backed.
This role is
office-based in Co. Mayo
and offers long-term progression into senior leadership for the right person.
What You'll Be Doing
* Lead the production and delivery of high-quality, fully compliant, commercially sound bids
* Build and manage bid teams across engineering, commercial, and operational functions
* Own the commercial strategy and pricing structure for tenders
* Manage client and supply-chain relationships throughout the bid process
* Identify, manage, and mitigate bid-related risks and issues
* Drive the written quality and presentation of submissions
* Manage bid financials and ensure appropriate governance and sign-off
* Oversee post-bid reviews (win or lose) to drive continuous improvement
* Lead tender handovers to operations following contract award
* Review bid performance, trends, and data to improve future outcomes
* Develop and refine internal pre-construction and bid processes
This is a
hands-on, evolving role
with real scope to grow.
What We're Looking For
* Degree-qualified in
Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying
* Proven experience in a Bid Manager / Tender Manager role within civil engineering
* Strong commercial and contractual understanding
* Solid knowledge of Irish procurement and tender processes
* Confident managing multiple stakeholders at all levels
* Structured, organised, and calm under pressure
* Strong communicator with the credibility to influence senior decision-makers
* Someone who understands the
client journey
