Paediatric Nurse – Home Support · Location: Co. Meath · Hours: Full-time | Day & Night Shifts Available
A rewarding opportunity for an experienced Paediatric Nurse (RCN, RGN, or RNID) to join a nurse-led home support team caring for a baby with complex needs in Co. Meath. This role offers a chance to make a genuine difference to a child’s life in a supportive, person-centred environment.
What you’ll do
* Deliver evidence-based, individualised nursing care in the home
* Work closely with the child’s family and multidisciplinary team
* Promote the child’s independence, comfort, and safety at all times
* Keep accurate clinical notes and communicate effectively with all parties involved in care
Clinical Skills & Experience Required
We’re looking for nurses with proven experience caring for a baby with a tracheostomy in a home setting, ideally with acute paediatric care experience. You should be confident in:
* All aspects of tracheostomy care, including changing ties, suctioning, and emergency tube changes
* Monitoring stoma skin integrity and spotting early signs of breakdown
* Administering nebulisations and suctioning via tracheostomy
* Recognising and responding to respiratory distress
* Oral medication administration
* Gastrostomy care and enteral feeding
* Providing emotional, developmental, and play support for the child and family
What you’ll bring
* NMBI registration (RGN, RCN, or RNID)
* Paediatric experience (home care or acute setting)
* Strong clinical competence, particularly with tracheostomy care
* Compassion, patience, and a genuine commitment to family-centred care
* Supportive, nurse-led team environment
