We have a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Senior Structural / Bridge Engineer to join our Consulting Structures team in Dublin. The standard hours of work are 40 hours per week, but we offer a range of flexible working practices, including hybrid, part‑time and flexible patterns.

What You Will Be Doing
Leading a team and producing technically sound engineering solutions.
Taking ownership and leading bridge engineering projects from start to finish, including design development, structural assessments, principal inspections, special inspections and feasibility reports.
Preparation and checking of designs, calculations, drawings and documentation to meet quality, cost and programme criteria.
Overseeing the work of junior members and taking responsibility for their actions.
Contributing to the professional development of junior staff.
Liaising with client and supplier representatives at peer level, attending progress meetings and responding to queries.
Managing a small, locally based single‑discipline technical team and taking responsibility for delivery of their workload.
Contributing to bid preparation and the general work‑winning function.
Driving effective health and safety practices within the team.
Who We Are Looking For
Developed experience and expertise within the structures field, usually gained in an engineer or equivalent role.
Comprehensive knowledge of structural design processes and procedures.
An ability to produce or oversee technically sound engineering solutions, complying with all relevant standards and client requirements.
Ownership for the preparation and checking of deliverables to a reasonable standard.
Very good working knowledge of relevant software and analytical tools (e.g. LUSAS, Autodesk Structural Bridge Design).
Good commercial awareness.
Understanding of safety, health & welfare and risk assessment.
Experience managing and communicating hazards and risks on projects, ensuring risk mitigation and transference.
Understanding of interface management, ensuring deliverables align with those of other disciplines.
Incorporated or Chartered status with Engineers Ireland, ICE, IStructE, or an equivalent professional licence is desirable and may be essential on certain contracts.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an appropriate subject or equivalent further learning.
