Responsibilities
* Leading logistics solutions including proposals for vehicle management systems, standards for access to sites, consolidated logistics facilities, spoil deposition and site/workforce accommodation.
* Leading the overall logistics management process for the project, developing a logistics strategy covering the entire project lifecycle.
* Coordinating with the project and programme management lead to establish the development and delivery function, and support cross-functional integration.
* Supporting the procurement of core contracts by producing logistics requirements for procurement documents and responding to logistics-related clarifications during tender.
* Supporting the evaluation of tender responses in relation to logistics requirements.
* Sharing, communicating, and collaborating with the project delivery partner, core contractors and other stakeholders in implementing the logistics strategy.
* Managing and updating the project logistics strategy as necessary throughout delivery.
Qualifications
* 5 years of logistics management experience with leading logistics activities across the project lifecycle through to completion in high value metro rail or similar project.
* Tangible experience of driving best practice in technical activities, processes, policies and standards.
* In-depth understanding of design and delivery requirements of technically complex projects in the architectural/engineering/construction sectors.
* Experience dealing with stakeholders at all levels across the organisation, influencing process improvement and providing guidance to support project delivery and reporting.
* Knowledge of quality management and process improvement practices and systems is desirable, preferably within the construction sector.
* Ability to manage technical outputs to drive efficiency.
* Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to govern and drive outcomes to ensure high quality service.
Additional Requirements
* BA/BSc (architecture, engineering, construction management, or related discipline).
* MSc/MA (engineering, architecture or related discipline).
* Six Sigma
* Relevant qualifications in supply chain and logistics.
