Role Overview

The Accounting Assistant supports the finance and accounting team by performing a range of financial and administrative tasks. This role involves maintaining accurate records, processing transactions, assisting with reconciliations, and supporting reporting activities. The Accounting Assistant ensures day-to-day financial operations run smoothly and helps uphold compliance with internal policies. This position is ideal for detail-oriented individuals looking to build foundational experience in accounting and finance.

Key Responsibilities


• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable by processing invoices, payments, and receipts.


• Reconcile bank statements, ledgers, and financial records to ensure accuracy and completeness.


• Maintain organized financial documentation and filing systems.


• Support month-end and year-end closing processes by preparing schedules, reports, and reconciliations.


• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports.


• Record and track expenses, purchase orders, and petty cash transactions.


• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.


• Respond to queries from internal teams, vendors, and clients regarding financial transactions.


• Support audits and financial reviews by providing necessary documentation and reports.


• Contribute to improving accounting processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications and Requirements


• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.


• 0–2 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or finance support roles.


• Basic understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and bookkeeping practices.


• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software or ERP systems.


• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.


• Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.


• Good communication skills for collaborating with colleagues, clients, and vendors.


• Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to completing tasks.


• Reliability, integrity, and commitment to maintaining confidentiality in financial matters.


• Eagerness to learn and develop professionally within an accounting team.
