Role OverviewNoreside Engineering is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to take ownership of the company's financial operations and reporting. This role will work closely with senior management to provide accurate financial insight, ensure strong financial controls, and support decision-making across engineering projects and the wider business.The ideal candidate will be comfortable operating in an SME environment, combining hands-on financial management with commercial awareness and the ability to improve processes as the business grows.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Management & ReportingPrepare monthly management accounts, cashflow forecasts, and financial reportsMonitor and report on project profitability, margins, and cost controlManage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysisOversee balance sheet integrity, including WIP and accrualsOperational & Project FinanceWork closely with engineering and project teams on project costing and financial trackingReview and improve job costing, invoicing, and revenue recognition processesSupport pricing, tender analysis, and commercial decision-makingCashflow & ControlsManage cashflow, working capital, and banking relationshipsOversee accounts payable, receivable, payroll inputs, and credit controlMaintain and strengthen internal financial controls and proceduresCompliance & External StakeholdersLiaise with external accountants, auditors, and tax advisorsEnsure compliance with Irish tax, VAT, payroll, and statutory reporting requirementsSupport year-end accounts and audit processSystems & Process ImprovementOwn and develop accounting systems and financial processesIdentify opportunities to improve efficiency, reporting quality, and financial visibilitySupport financial aspects of growth initiatives, new projects, or acquisitionsSkills & ExperienceEssentialQualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) or qualified by experience5+ years' experience in a finance role, ideally within engineering, construction, or project-based businessesStrong understanding of project accounting, WIP, and cost controlExcellent Excel and financial reporting skillsAbility to communicate clearly with non-finance stakeholdersDesirableExperience in an SME or growing business environmentFamiliarity with accounting systems such as Sage, Xero, or similarCommercial mindset with the ability to support strategic decisionsPersonal AttributesHands-on, pragmatic, and detail-orientedCommercially minded with strong problem-solving skillsComfortable working autonomously and taking ownershipTrusted business partner to senior managementWhat We OfferKey role in a growing engineering businessOpportunity to shape finance processes and add real commercial valueCompetitive salary and benefits packageLong-term career development potentialJob Types: Full-time, PermanentPay: €35,000.00-€50,000.00 per yearWork Location: In person
