Job Title: Knowledge Lawyer – Banking

Department: Knowledge

Duration: Full time, permanent

We are currently recruiting a knowledge lawyer to join one of Ireland's leading law firms. This role will have a particular responsibility for the firm's Banking and Finance department.

The Role

Legal Developments & Research

* Monitoring new and proposed relevant Irish and EU legislation and case law
* Assessing the implications of relevant legal and regulatory developments for practice and producing detailed briefings for internal use
* Producing internal current awareness updates and bulletins
* Assisting colleagues with ad hoc legal queries and research

Know How, Precedents & Knowledge Management

* Developing and managing collections of valuable know how
* Contributing to the development of house views and agreed positions on technical issues
* Developing, reviewing and updating precedents and practice tools on an ongoing basis
* Designing and delivering education and training courses with related materials
* Communicating know how and precedent developments to the firm
* Participating in legal tech pilots and implementations
* Promoting a good knowledge culture

Client-Facing Activities

* Identifying key legal developments of interest to clients
* Producing briefing papers and presentations for clients
* Preparing and delivering both general and bespoke client training

The Person

* You are a qualified solicitor with experience in private practice, preferably in a larger firm.
* You have a minimum six years relevant experience.
* You are commercially aware with a good understanding of business issues faced by clients.
* You are target-driven individual with strong organisational and project management skills.
* You have an excellent understanding of the importance of effective knowledge management in a law firm.
* You are curious and are interested in legal tech.
* You have excellent research skills and have a comprehensive understanding of the legislative process in the EU and Ireland.
