We’re recruiting a Power Systems Engineer on behalf of a semi-state owned company. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on critical infrastructure projects with hybrid working from our client's office in Rosbrien, Limerick. Occasional travel may be required.
The Power Systems Engineer will play a key role in developing a clean electric future by planning and developing the distribution network to meet evolving customer needs. Responsibilities:
1. Power System Evaluation: Conduct assessments of the electrical distribution network using industry-standard tools like Synergi and PSS Sincal to evaluate impacts of renewable integration, flexible loads, customer connections, and reinforcement strategies.
2. Customer Connection Handling: Manage processing of grid connection requests in accordance with CRU guidelines and internal procedures, providing clear and timely responses to customers.
3. Project Leadership: Lead planning and infrastructure projects from conception to delivery.
4. Technical Documentation: Prepare studies, financial evaluations, and technical proposals for capital investment.
5. Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain relationships with stakeholders including customers, developers, government bodies, and local authorities.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
2. 2 to 5 years of relevant engineering experience.
3. Proven technical capability and high-quality delivery.
4. Excellent communication and report writing skills.
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
6. Full clean driving license.
7. Proficiency in power system analysis software (e.g., Synergi, PSS Sincal) is desirable.
8. Experience in system planning, grid connection studies, transmission and distribution system planning, power quality, or policy development is advantageous but not essential.
