Role Overview

Job type: Full‑time, Permanent
Minimum annual remuneration: €38,532.00 (Base €19.00 per hour). Overtime available.
Hours of work: 39 hours per week (standard).
We are seeking an experienced and detail‑oriented Critical Infrastructure Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will attend site surveys and liaise with clients to prepare accurate cost estimates for telecoms and fibre projects, prepare SOPs for the project managers on the roll‑out of successful estimation, and communicate the implementation strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed cost estimates for fibre optic, copper, and telecom infrastructure projects.
Review project specifications, drawings, and scope of work to identify costs, risks, and resource requirements.
Liaise with clients to ensure accurate adherence to the scope provided, both on call and on‑site during survey visits.
Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain accurate quotes for materials, labour, and equipment.
Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure estimates align with project objectives and deadlines.
Produce comprehensive estimate reports and supporting documentation for management and clients.
Identify cost‑saving opportunities while maintaining quality, safety, and compliance standards.
Maintain a database of historical costs, unit rates, and supplier pricing for reference in future projects.
Stay updated on industry standards, materials, and best practices in fibre and telecom network installation.
Create SOPs and communicate their contents to project managers.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Telecoms Estimator or in a similar role within fibre or telecom projects.
Strong understanding of telecoms infrastructure, fibre optics, ducts, cabling, and associated installation processes.
Excellent numerical, analytical, and organisational skills.
Proficiency in estimating software, spreadsheets, and project management tools.
Good communication, negotiation, and teamwork skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat.
Safe Pass certification.
On‑site experience in cable install role, telecommunications install, electrical install, electrical/telecommunications maintenance, and plant maintenance.
Fluency in English and at least one other European language (e.g., Italian, German, or Spanish) at a professional working level or native speaker.
