Responsibilities
The Senior Social Care Worker is part of the on floor duty team and will also be responsible for coordination of the shift whilst on duty and for the supervision of other staff under their direction. They will work collaboratively as part of an MDT in service delivery to residents and will report directly to the Person In-Charge. In the absence of the Person In-Charge, the Senior Social Care Worker may deputise for the Person In-Charge and assume appropriate management responsibilities. The role involves providing care and support through a person-centred approach that meets the practical, physical and emotional needs of service users, including those with intellectual disability/ABI/autism. The Senior Social Care Worker will assist persons with a disability in residential, training and day service activities to achieve their highest level of functioning, maintain independence and/or improve skills that foster greater independence.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
Level 7 qualification on the National Framework of Qualifications in Social Care, Social Work, Youth Work, Teaching, Nursing, Childcare with Disability modules (or other relevant discipline/qualification).
At least 2 years experience of working in a residential, respite or day service setting with people with an intellectual disability.
Applicants must be CORU registered or currently in the process of obtaining CORU registration.
Desirable Experience
Previous experience of managing a team.
