*The Firm*
Our client is a rapidly growing professional services firm based in Dublin City. They have experienced significant year-on-year expansion over the past five years and, with further substantial investment secured, expect continued accelerated growth. The firm is targeting a doubling in size over the next three to five years.
A dedicated Financial Services Audit division has recently been established and has grown at pace since inception. As part of this expansion, they are now seeking to appoint an experienced Audit Director to support and drive the continued development of the practice.
Target sectors include
asset management, capital markets, payments, and banking organisations
. This is a key strategic hire with
rapid and clearly defined progression opportunities
for the right individual.
*Key Responsibilities*
* Manage and grow a diverse portfolio of financial services audit clients.
* Oversee the planning, execution and completion of audits in line with regulatory and professional standards.
* Provide strong technical expertise across IFRS, UK/Irish GAAP, and relevant sector-specific reporting frameworks.
* Lead and mentor a developing team within the financial services audit division, ensuring high-quality delivery and professional growth.
* Drive audit quality initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement within the department.
* Act as a senior point of contact for clients, providing commercial insights and proactive guidance.
* Support business development initiatives, including tender proposals, networking, and relationship building.
* Collaborate with senior leadership on strategy, resource planning, and further scaling of the Financial Services Audit offering.
* Ensure compliance with evolving regulatory requirements across asset management, banking, payments, and capital markets.
*Skills & Experience*
To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have:
* Qualified accountant designation (ACA / ACCA).
* Significant financial services audit experience gained within a large domestic or international practice.
* Strong technical knowledge of audit standards and financial reporting in regulated sectors.
* Proven experience leading teams and managing complex audit engagements.
* A genuine commitment to a long-term career in practice.
* Strong communication skills with an ability to build trust and credibility with clients and colleagues.
* Commercial awareness, with the ability to identify opportunities and contribute to the growth of the practice.
* Ambition and drive, with the desire to progress within a fast-growing firm.
